On Thursday 19th March we visited the Asakusa district of Tokyo. We were interested in SensÅ-ji, a Buddhist temple dedicated to the bodhisattva Kannon and it's approach, which we had read was a bustling street flanked by interesting market stalls.
The sights and smells were amazing!

Japan : Izakaya at Myoden Station
During the portion of our time in Japan that we spent in Tokyo, we stayed in the apartment of a 'friend of a friend' a short walk away from Myoden Station, Chiba Prefecture.
Near the end of our holiday we went for dinner at an Izakaya that was housed in the same overground building as the station. The food was good, and occasionally we heard the faint rumble of the trains passing beneath! Unfortunately we didn't get the name of the establishment, but we believe it may have been a chain.
